NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Women Artists and Poets Advocating Children's Rights is a multiple portfolio exhibition conceptualised by the Art for Humanity (AfH) due to open on April 27 at the Durban Institute of Technology (DIT) Art Gallery, Durban. The exhibition celebrates Freedom Day and features the Images of Human Rights portfolio now installed at the New Constitutional Court in Gauteng, the Break the Silence: HIV/Aids portfolio endorsed locally and internationally, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights international prints portfolio. To coincide with the exhibition, the Art for Humanity which has changed from Artists for Human Rights will launch its new name, (AfH) as well as announce its growing nature of work. The exhibits are wheelchair accessible from the S-block entrances and the Art Gallery strives to make most exhibits and activities accessible from a seated position. Contact Reginald Letsatsi on 031 204 2207.
