Christopher Duigan presents a programme of exceptionally engaging concert music for his forthcoming solo recital in Durban at UKZN’s Howard College Theatre on February 24. Christopher Duigan is regarded as one of South Africa's foremost concert artists with regular appearances on the premier stages and with leading orchestras in South Africa including regular appearances for ClassicFm, National Arts Festival - Grahamstown and solo engagements with the Johannesburg Philharmonic and KwaZulu Natal Philharmonic Orchestras. As a freelance pianist and promoter, he has built a popular following with local audiences over the last ten years in KZN with his Music Revival concerts. Engagements in 2008 include partnering visiting international soloist Dmitri Ashkenazy (clarinet), performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg for the new Steinway and Sons, South Africa Agencies and a performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No 3 with the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra. A rare occurrence in Durban, Duigan's solo performance re-launches the Durban Concert Series in a new Sunday afternoon time slot at the Howard College Theatre. The recital takes place in UKZN’s Howard College Theatre on February 24 at 16h00. Tickets R60 and refreshments will be available at interval.
