NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and the South African Society of Music Teachers (SASMT) will present a concert which will showcase the talents of various young KZN performers on May 10 in the Durban Jewish Centre. In all, 17 young people will perform with the Orchestra, affording them an opening that each one of them is looking forward to. Russian-born Maestro Naum Rousine will conduct the KZNPO. The concert begins at 19h30 on May 10. Tickets R35 (R25 senior citizens and students) are available through KZNPO Booking office on 031 369 9404/9477 or at the door on the night. The Durban Jewish Centre is situated in Old Fort Road, Durban. On May 15, there will be a free concert in the OSCA Hall at the University of KwaZulu-Natal starting at 12h15. The soloists will be students from the Music Department at the UKZN and the KZNPO will again be conducted by Naum Rousine.
