NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. On August 2, there will be a performance by the KZNPO Harp Trio with KZN Philharmonic Orchestra Concert Master Hristo Kardjiev on violin with cellist Kristian Chernev and harpist Linor Griffith. They will perform a programme of works by Bach, Handel, Corelli, Saint-Saens and Spohr. The Prelude Performer will be 10-year old Samantha van Gysen (violin). The internationally acclaimed Drakensberg Boys Choir will be the attraction in a concert on August 23. Under the direction of Christian Ashley-Botha and Rudolf de Beer, they will perform a selection of light to classical music ending with their trademark African Kaleidoscope. The concerts take place at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort Road, at 19h45. There is a cash bar and safe parking. Book through Computicket.
