Mothers' Day at Durban Botanic Gardens offers a chance to allow mums to be spoiled in beautiful surroundings listening to fine music.

Friends of the Gardens and the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra will present a special Mothers Day Concert on May 8 at 14h30.

Lykele Temmingh will conduct the KZNPO in a programme of music chosen especially for mothers.

Soloist Kerry Hiles will sing I will always love you and Every little thing she does is magic!. Lauren Dasappa will sing the beautiful Summertime from Porgy & Bess and the Strauss classic Mein Herr Marquis.

Orchestral pieces on the programme include two Strauss polkas - Champagne Polka and Lob der Frauen ("In praise of Women"), The Shadow of your Smile by Mancini and shifting to an upbeat tempo are medleys from the Broadway musicals West Side Story and That's Entertainment.
