Renowned French Chef, Marcel Carles, will be conducting a gourmet cooking class from May 16 to 18 at Isandlwana Lodge, one of KwaZulu Natal's most spectacular venues. A graduate of Ecole Hoteliere de Paris, Carles now has roots in the United States. He is well known for his television program entitled Good Taste where he logged 150 cooking shows, delighting audiences with his innovative ideas and his winsome personality. His 42 years in the food industry have included stints at the French Embassy in Havana, Cuba and in various parts of the US. Carles has an impressionable record and has received many notable honours. Just three and a half hours drive from Durban in northern Zululand, Isandlwana Lodge is the ideal venue to host a gourmet cooking weekend. It is situated at the site of the first battle of the Anglo-Zulu War near Rorke's Drift and is carved into the iNyoni Rock formation overlooking the exquisite Isandlwana Valley. The lodge comprises 12 luxury en-suite rooms all offering guests unparalleled views of the magnificent scenery. The specialist chef and dining facilities promise some of the best food in KwaZulu-Natal. The cost for the weekend is R2500.00 per person, sharing including eight hours of instruction, two nights accommodation and all meals. Reservations and enquiries may be made directly with the lodge on 034 271 8301/4/5 or fax 034 271 8306 or email lodge@isandlwana.co.za
