Make a date for August 29 at the International Convention Centre, Durban for the 1999 Night of 100 Stars variety show in aid of the Cancer Association in KwaZulu-Natal. The gala fundraising event, now in its seventh year, is being devised and directed this year by well-known director Themi Venturas. Apart from moving it to a new and more prestigious venue, he promises an exciting kaleidoscope of performers and personalities, all of whom have offered their services free of charge for this production.

Themi Venturas has given the show a circus theme - based on the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil. Interspersed with well-known local performers, including Melanie Roberts, Duncan Royce, Bronwyn Forbay, the cast from Jamaican Jam, experts in Indian dance Yashika Moodley and Saloshnie Naicker as well as the Fantastic Flying Fish Dance company, tumblers, acrobats, fire-eaters, jugglers and sports personalities.

Celebrity presenters include TV personalities Camilla Walker, Dawn Spencer, Dave McLeod and Kalay Maistry, plus radio DJs Dave Guselli and Alan Kahn. Visitors to this website will also get to see artSMart’s editor Caroline Smart for real! Trevor Harper's Tin Jam Jazz Band will be the band for the evening while the KZN Youth Wind Band and Field Band Foundation will also provide high energy entertainment!
