NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Senses Art & Interiors opened its doors in October 2007 at 39 Hilton Avenue in Hilton, outside Pietermaritzburg. “Senses grew out of a perceived need for a more creative approach to the design and decorating of our homes,” says owner and director Lucy du Plessis. “Our homes have become an extension of our personalities and as such a space in which we love to create in order to stimulate all our senses. To satisfy this desire, Senses offers a slightly different eclectic mix of high quality products and services:” An Art Gallery filled with a phenomenal mix of talent ranging from the abstract to the everyday, offers something for everyone, for all types of homes, for differing personalities. An Interiors Décor Gallery displays unique products presented to help broaden the public’s exposure to new ideas and concepts. “We also provide a service whereby we help define your need and then source the piece of work/product that will meet those requirements,” adds Lucy. “In essence, we will act as a “portal” exploring the markets for something unique, of quality, and preferably home grown, to satisfy your specific need.” A Home Project Management service is available to help members of the public achieve all they want in their home with committed project managers ensuring Ad Hoc home maintenance projects are seen to in the patron’s absence. The Senses coffee shop is housed within the venue to encourage a relaxed approach to creative intentions. From December 10 to 14, Senses will present a Focus event showcasing great art from Hilton, Howick and Pietermaritzburg with affordable and investment art on view. On December 15, on offer will be Maridadi pewter at wholesale prices. More information from Lucy du Plessis on 033 343 2450 or 082 789 5494 or e-mail: lucy@patonkzn.co.za or visit www.paton.co.za
