Well-known Durban photographer, Grant Erskine (42), has died this weekend.

“We are not sure exactly what the cause was- but we suspect it was a heart attack,” says his close friend, publicist Illa Thompson. “Grant was alone, house-sitting the home of friends in the KZN Midlands. This was his special place and he loved being there. He had bought a new bakkie recently which he had driven to the farm - wanting to give it an inaugural spin.

”Grant was one of my oldest, dearest friends and one of the most incredible people I have ever had the privilege of knowing,” says Illa. “We have lost a special friend and colleague and Independent Newspapers has lost a supremely talented and dedicated photographer.”
