NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. English actor and storyteller, Duncan Mackintosh is back in South Africa by popular demand to present more passionate and humorous stories and poetry from the enlightened mystical Sufi poet Jelaluddin Rumi. After a sell-out run in January this year, Duncan has again agreed to perform his creatively alive and heartfelt renditions of Rumi's works at the Square Space Theatre on the Durban campus of the University of Natal . The talented actor, who has received rave reviews in several countries and at the Edinburgh Festival, will also be facilitating two workshops that explore personal transformation during his visit to Durban. This will be an opportunity to meet Duncan and to share his passion for Rumi, as well as to put into practise the philosophy behind the sage’s writing. An Evening of Rumi runs at the Square Space Theatre, University of Natal, Durban campus from August 22 to 26 at 19h30. Tickets R40 at the door. A beginner’s workshop at R120 per person will be held at The Centre of Universal Mind, 46 Willowvale Road, Glenwood on August 24 and a more intensive workshop at R240 will be held on August 25 at the same venue. A discounted price of R300 is on offer for those who wish to attend both workshops. For enquiries and bookings, call 031 201-3739.
