NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. John van de Ruit and Ben Voss are performing their hilarious satirical show Black Mamba at the Sanlam Studio of the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town until January 14. Written by John van de Ruit, Ben Voss and Greig Coetzee and directed by Murray McGibbon, Black Mamba premiered at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in July 2005 and, according to Computicket, was officially the fastest-selling show on the Fringe. Highlights of this, the second show of the Mamba series (after the phenomenally successful Green Mamba) include a 12-minute illustrated History of South Africa which spans 600 years of conquering and re-conquering, a brilliant quiz show called The Missing Link, and a savage grilling of the Minister of Health. More information from Anstey L Kay, Audience Development Officer, Baxter Theatre Centre on 021 680 3991, fax 021 689 1880 or visit www.baxter.co.za
