For the first time, the National Crafts Council of South Africa is holding the FNB Vita Crafts Now Awards Exhibition alongside the Africa Earth Exhibition (a National Ceramics Exhibition put on by the Association of Potters of South Africa). The exhibition will be held from August 17 to September 24 at MuseuMAfrica in Newtown, Johannesburg.

The exhibitions will coincide with the World Summit Conference on Sustainable Development due to take place from August 26 to September 4 at various venues in Gauteng. All craftspeople are invited to submit work for the FNB Vita Crafts Exhibition. Selection will be by photograph (not slides this time) and a total of three pieces can be entered which must be for sale and the selling price must include 40% commission.

The photographs must be clearly marked on the back, and sent together with entry form, which must reach the NCCSA, PO Box 2302, Houghton, 2041 on or before June 17 (no late entries will be considered.

Entry Fee is R20 per piece entered (NCCSA members R15). Prizes of R35,000 will be awarded. 1st prize R12,500; 2nd prize R7,500 and 3rd prize R4,000, plus merit awards totalling R11,000.
