NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Opening at The Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg on July 24 is the Curriculum Exhibition. This is a selection of works from the permanent collection that relate to the national visual arts curriculum, filling the foyer, the stairwell, the main exhibition room and the ceramics room. It is a great chance for the public to see some of the gems of what is a very rich collection as well as being a resource for anyone from Grade 10 to 12 who is studying art. The curators have also created a series of “artist history files for students to come in and study. The Curriculum Exhibition runs until September 14 and the Tatham Art Gallery is situated opposite the Pietermaritzburg City Hall. For more information or to book research sessions and walkabouts, phone Thulani Makhaye or Kobie Venter at 033 392 2801.
