NKOSIKHONA’S WEBSITE (article first published : 2008-05-12; last edited : 2008-06-2)

Having worked as a graphic artistic for The Star Independent Newspapers and as a freelance photojournalist, graphic designer Nkosikhona Ngcobo holds a national diploma in graphic design from the Vaal University of Technology (East Rand Campus). One of his works was published in the Laugh it off Magazine Volume 2. He is experienced in QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Macromedia Freehand, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Flash and Dreamweaver.

Nkosikhona has found himself in a position where he can offer his skills and experience to fellow artists.

“The objective is to engage and develop a young arts audience, both locally and abroad,” explains Nkosi. “I've attending different workshop here and overseas. Locally, many special upcoming artists don't have websites to compare to international artists.”

So Nkosi decided to give back to the art community by offering this service. The cost of the package will be determined by the contents and pictures.

The website package includes registration; maintainance; designing; corrections/changes, and uploading. Those interested are invited to create their e-mail using their name. Contact Nkosikhona Ngcobo for a quotation on e-mail: nkosikhona@nkosikhona.co.za or visit www.nkosikhona.co.za

Nkosi recently received good news from Dak'Art 2008 informing him that he was invited by the international selection committee to participate in the International Exhibition of Dak'Art 2008, with his work called Praying for Peace.” The exhibition takes place from May 8.

Nkosikhona Ngcobo's address is House no 12 Willem De Zwaan, Philip Nel Park, 0183, and his cell number is 072 122 5231.

STOP PRESS: Nkosi has just informed artSMart that he has won two awards at the Biennale Dakart in Senegal 2008 and, as one of the winners, he will be going to the 2008 Olympic in China. “I am very happy and proud to be flying the South African flag very high,” he says.
