STREET ART (article first published : 2000-02-29)

The Independent on Saturday/Broad Street Satellite Police Station art competition is offering R10 000 worth of art tuition in a street art competition. The deadline has now been extended to March 31 and artists between the ages of 18 and 30 are invited to submit an A4 size replica of an image or images with the theme My Community Hero. Six finalists will then paint or create a mural on the police station wall.

Works should be delivered to the Marketing Department on the ground floor of Independent Newspapers in Osborne Street (next to the racecourse in Greyville) clearly marked Art Against Crime Competition.

Works should include the artistís name, address, phone number, a short CV and a photostat copy of the front page of his or her ID document. The prize will be sponsored by Molovuso Holdings and Nedbank Property Division.
