HILARY HOPE GUISE (article first published : 2006-05-15)

The May lecture of the Decorative Arts Society will take place in the Voortrekker Museum hall in Pietermaritzburg on May 17.

The subject is The Parthenon - its history and Meaning. The lecturer is Hilary Hope Guise and her lecture will be a study of the building and its sculptures - especially the Elgin Marbles which are in the British Museum. She is currently lecturer in Art History for the University of Cambridge. The fee is R30 (R20 members).

The lecture takes place at 12h30 for 13h00 on May 17. Light refreshments served from 12h30. Safe parking is available. More information from Gill Gaylard on 033 330 7011.
