BONISA OPEN DAYS (article first published : 2005-11-30)

Bonisa Private Gallery will hold their last Open Days of the year on December 4 and 7 from 10h00.

The charming gallery celebrates its Christmas Art Sale.

“The work featured will include that of the popular artists that have exhibited at Bonisa this year,” explains Neil Wright of Bonisa. “These will include Hussein Salim, whose African abstract art has been causing quite a stir. His work has been exhibited in Johannesburg and Cape Town this year. We are going to hear a lot more about this artist from the Sudan now studying at the Art School at Pietermaritzburg.

“We are also fortunate to have some of Carl Roberts’s work because it is being sold off the line. We also feature Raja Oshi. Her abstract work is delightful, soft colours, very feminine. She is Hussein's wife and also has a fine Arts Degree from Khartoum. Another artist represented will be Noria Mabasa and we are lucky to have a few of her very striking sculptures left over from her exhibition in September.”

The sale will include other artists such as Edoardo Di Muro, Siphwe Zulu, George Msimang, Shu-Dili, Paul Sibisi and others.

John Simpson will be in residence working on his popular Japanese-styled art.

Bonisa is situated at 47 Ronalds Road, Kloof. Contact 031 764 0288 or fax 031 764 0266.
