UKZN AT BAYSIDE (article first published : 2005-09-22)

An eclectic exhibition of multi-media work by the staff and post graduate students of the Centre for Visual Art at the University of KwaZulu-Natal opens at the Bayside Gallery on September 28.

Ceramics, print-making, painting, new media and animations all feature strongly in the body of work being presented by the 25 artists. Hailing from countries as diverse as the Sudan and Eritrea on the one hand and Germany and the USA, the fascination of the exhibition lies in its “interpretation of Africa’s multi-culturalism as seen by artists from around the world”, according to Bayside Gallery curator, Sue Greenberg.

The exhibition runs until October 16. The Bayside Gallery is situated at the BAT Centre in Durban in the Small Craft Harbour. Gallery hours 10h00 to 16h00, Tuesday to Sunday. More details on 031 368 5547
