CERAMICS, SCULPTURE AND PRINTS (article first published : 1999-11-24)

An exhibition by Jabulani Mhlabini and Zakhele Hlatshwayo runs in the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg until December 12.

Ceramist Jabulani Mhlabini, who was taught by his mother, has been working solo for more than ten years. His sculptures, figurative wall plaques and domestic vessels are characterised by bright colours and exaggerated, even comical, features. Zakhele Hlatshwayo studied at the Ndaleni Teacher's Training College. He is a sculptor and printmaker, and also a published author of several educational textbooks and dramas.
