BUZZART SHINING STARS (article first published : 2004-09-13)

Over the past couple of years the NSA Gallery has developed the annual “Christmas Exhibition” into a lively and active centre during the Festive Season, known as the place for festive season shopping that has ‘something for everyone’ in terms of unique and unusual gifts.

The NSA wishes to expand on this. The market has grown steadily over the years, and so has the exhibition, with a balanced stock mix between handmade items and factory-produced goods.

The NSA is therefore looking for handmade gifts, crafts, jewellery, children’s gifts, toys, knick-knacks, woodwork, ceramics, exceptional handcrafted furniture, soft furnishings, lightfittings, lamps, shades, tableware, frames, collectables etc. The emphasis is on quality, good craftsmanship, uniqueness and saleability.

The exhibition will run from November 21 to January 10, 2005. There will be a preview on November 20 at 18h00 with attendance by invitation only.

Goods must be delivered for display purposes on November 17, 18 or 19 between 09h00 and 17h00 daily. In consultation with the artists, the exhibition curator will handle the design of the exhibition and related display. Special display requirements would need to be discussed with the curator by November 1.

All goods to be exhibited on a consignment basis, with the NSA taking a commission of 33.3% of the final selling price. Although care will be taken when handling works and security measures are in place, goods will be displayed at the exhibitor’s own risk.

The NSA will endeavour to publicise and promote the guest exhibitors to the best of its abilities.

To participate in the exhibition, contact Gloria or Gail on 031 202 3686/7 or email shop@nsagallery.co.za.
