Durban Institute of Technology (formerly Technikon Natal) offers part-time art and craft courses as well as life drawing classes.

The Fine Art Department, Durban Institute of Technology offers a variety of art and craft courses during 2004. All members of the public interested in developing their creative potential are welcome to visit the Fine Art Department, Room 249, City Campus on April 17 between 09h30 and 11h00 to find out more about their courses. The department will also welcome suggestions and requests from groups to meet their particular needs.

Life Drawing Classes for those who wish to improve their drawing skills will start on April 17. This course caters for young adults as well as mature students who wish to explore the expressive potential of the human body through the medium of drawing. A variety of drawing media, including charcoal and pastels will be used throughout the year. As only a limited number of students can be registered for this course, it is advisable to book early. Contact Fransie Pretorius on 031 266 8422 as soon as possible for registration forms and further details on the course.

Potential students visiting the Fine Art Department will have the opportunity to register for Drawing, Watercolour Painting, Ceramics and any of the other courses that will be on offer throughout 2004. Registration will take place in Room 249, City Campus on April 17. Fransie Pretorius, Associate Director in the Fine Art Department, will be in attendance to provide information about Outreach Programmes offered in the Fine Art Department. She will also be interested to hear special needs or course requirements.

Secure parking will be available on campus or in Smith Street, between Williams Street and Warwick Avenue.
