GAVIN WRIGHT (article first published : 2003-09-26)

A self taught artist living in Randburg, Gavin was born in Zimbabwe in 1963. Since early childhood he has naturally expressed his love of Africa through painting and drawing which has resulted in a full time career as an artist. Although he paints mainly in oils, he also enjoys watercolours and ink sketches.

Travels over the years to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Malawi have been sources of inspiration for his paintings of African landscapes and wildlife.

Commissions have included Kruger Park Centenary, Endangered Wildlife Trust, British Airways and other corporate collections. His paintings are sold in galleries throughout South Africa and in Europe.

Watercolour artist John Simpson will be back in residence with his charming Japanese-styled cards.

Bonisa Private Gallery is situated at 47 Ronalds Rd, Kloof, and the exhibition will be open from 10h00 to 16h00. Phone 031 764 0288, fax 031 764 0266 or e-mail: bonisa47@mweb.co.za
