SEPTEMBER RED EYE (article first published : 2003-07-21)

The next Red Eye Art will take place on September 12 and will coincide with both Heritage Month and the Celebrate Durban initiative which will be taking place throughout the city during that time. Red Eye hopes to provide fresh and startling new insight into the idea of Heritage, exploding myths and providing saucy alternative looks at what Heritage and Identity means to this city's rampant and prolific artists.

This event sees award-winning choreographer Jay Pather taking the helm as curator and if his Cityscapes and Edge performances were anything to go by, then this Red Eye promises to be a huge success.

Apart from the Durban Art Gallery and Natural Science Museum, the Red Eye will also be making use of the Farewell Square park area in front of the main entrance to the City Hall to host crossover ballroom spectacle and performance art.
