BEN NSUSHA AT BONISA (article first published : 2003-02-21)

Bonisa Private Gallery in Kloof will hold its next Open Day on March 2.

This month, Bonisa will focos on the work of Ben Nsusha, one of KZNís best known artists whose works have been exhibited all over the world.

Ben was born in Umzumbe in 1947 and studied art at Edenvale Technical College, Pietermaritzburg, going on to the Rorkes Drift Art School. He was awarded a British Arts Council Scholarship to observe art programmes in Birmingham UK and was also awarded a Eva Rickett Trust Scholarship to study printmaking at the Slade School of Art, London University College.

A sculptor, painter and printmaker, Ben has taught art at various institutions including Adams College of Education and the University of Durban Westville. Many public and private galleries have Ben`s work and Bonisa Private Gallery is delighted to host a wide range of including paintings, sculptors and ceramics.

Also in regular attendance will be radio actor turned watercolour artist John Simpson who will be working on this charming Japanese styled cards
