GLAMOUR (article first published : 2005-08-7)

If glamour is your game, then get ready to paint the town red with the dazzling new show coming to the fabulous Heritage Theatre soon. Starring the irrepressible Helene Joseph, Glamour promises to provide all the ingredients for a special night out.

Sprinkled with the talents of a scintillating dance troupe and peppered with the sounds of Tom Hare on saxophone, clarinet and trumpet, Glamour is the perfect showcase for Joseph's repertoire, which includes jazz, pop, R&B and Broadway.

Helene Joseph starred in musical hits in Durban such as Unforgettable Too, Midnight Blues, Motown Girls and Divas of Africa. After a six-month stint in Oman and Bahrain, Helene is thrilled to be returning to South Africa to premier a new show. She is well known around South Africa and in Europe for her interpretations of the songs of Lena Horne, Shirley Bassey, Judy Garland, Bette Midler, Gloria Gaynor and Liza Minelli.

Brought to you by Very Very Big Productions, the team who also presented Nunsense, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and the award-winning productions, Drinks on Me and Strapless, Glamour is sure to put the razzle dazzle back into your night life.

Glamour starts with special low-priced previews from August 18 to 22 and runs until September 18, with lunchtime shows on Tuesdays and Sundays. The show includes a two-course meal with an a la carte pudding menu. Tickets for evening shows including a meal at R140 (R120 Tuesday night and Sunday lunchtime shows). Tickets for the show only are R65.
