DRAG RAGING (article first published : 2005-04-4)

The Family Players and Friends offer their latest show - Drag Raging which is all about the "speed" of life at the Rhumbelow Theatre this month.

“Whatever your speed, whatever your rage, we are all always on a mission of getting the most out of Life,” say the group members. “This show takes a look at life in the fast lane. Driving too fast. Partying to late. Dressing up to kill. Drink yourself too death. Crack kills … so do drugs. Work life balance? What a cliché! If at first you don’t succeed, skydiving is not for you.”

All this and more adds up to their adage: “We are not supposed to arrive at the grave looking beautiful – so wear that body out on the way. Just don’t help it along too quickly.”

Featuring Family Players stalwarts Allan Quihampton, Roland Stansell, Derek Pearse, Toby, Gino Veronie and Belinda Dolphin, there will be performances on April 22 and 23 at 20h00 and on April 24 at 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner.

Tickets R50. Take along food picnic baskets and braais will be available. There is limited secure parking and booking is essential. A cash bar is available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises). Rhumbelow Theatre is situated in Cunningham Avenue off Bartle Road. Any profits will go to the Tsunami Relief Fund.

To book contact Roland on 031 205 7602 (h) or 082 499 8636, or email roland@stansell.za.net
