REGGIE LEARNS TO ROCK (article first published : 2000-03-10)

Well-known for their highly successful productions Sex, Bugs & Rock ‘n Roll and The Revenge of the Pink Panties, Lisa Bobbert and Aaron McIlroy have come up with their latest show which is titled Reggie Learns to Rock. Opening at the Langoustine Theatre by the Sea on March 14, it features Liesl Coppin, Kate Bruce and Arnie Field.

Described as a “Politically Incorrect Musical Comedy”, Reggie Learns to Rock follows the tried and tested MacBob Productions form of zany comedy. It deals with the paranoia and delusions of a “wannabe” musical superstar who grew up under strange circumstances and pokes fun at social taboos and South African stereotypes.

The show features music from the late 70’s to current day from artists such as Barry White, Sting, Bony M, Shania Twain, Neil Diamond and others.

Tickets at R100 include a good choice meal from the Langoustine’s kitchens. Book through (031) 563-7324 or at Computicket.
