TAKE TWO (article first published : 2003-06-20)

A rare opportunity to see the inimitable talent of pianist Chantal Sanders and popular singer Melanie Roberts on stage together after Chantalís seven-year absence, will take place at the Dockyard Supper Theatre at the Point Waterfront on July 7.

Back for a brief visit from an extended tour overseas, Chantal Sanders is fondly remembered by Durban audiences as the musical director of Queen at the Opera; founder of the Napac Jazz Quartet and as the versatile musical director for more than 60 musical shows at the Playhouse - including Ain't Misbehaviní and Unforgettable. Her partnership with singer Melanie Roberts (last seen in Fourplay, Cabaret Conversations and the Gateway Philharmonic Orchestra) led towards her working abroad for the last seven years.

This charming duo have joined forces for a once off "nostalgic reunion" at the Dockyard Supper Theatre on the Point Waterfront (currently hosting Lady sings the Blues) for one night only.

Chantal and Melanie will entertain in their distinctive and elegant style with swing, jazz, pop and favourite tunes, all of which have contributed towards them becoming one of South Africa's most successful duos in the piano and vocal genre. Numbers included in their repertoire for this once off show include If you go away, Donít get around much more, The Rose, Misty and Ainít Misbehavin to name just a few.

Join Melanie and Chantal for a laid back evening of music featuring piano and voice on July 7 at 19h00 for an optional meal and the show, which starts at 20h00. Tickets re will be a couvert of R20. To book contact the theatre on 031 332 1086.
