BLOODY MARY (article first published : 2003-05-19)

Bloody Mary featuring Evan Roberts & Carol Trench is the winnder of the Fools Award for Best Music Production and will play The Rhumbelow Theatre early in June

Bloody Mary takes a light look at the Dark Ages. Queen "Bloody" Mary herself hosts this comic romp through the history of Englandís original dysfunctional Royal Family. This is the story of Queen Mary the Only - Englandís most hated monarch. Heads will be rolling in the aisles as Queen "Bloody" Mary frolics through the pages of history, told HER way!

The show includes twisted versions of some familiar songs and guest appearances by all the Terrible Tudors and their ex-wives. Bloody Mary leaves no axe un-ground in its search for the real story behind the Terrible Tudors.

Carol Trench plays Bloody Mary and the "Exís" - singer, sovereign, and royal pain; Evan Roberts plays Henry VIII on the one hand and piano with the other.

Shows take place on June 6 and 7 at 20h30 and June 8 at 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner. Tickets R40. Take along food picnic baskets and braais will be available for those who wish to cook some meat. There is limited secure parking and booking is essential. A cash bar is available (alcohol may not be brought on to the premises)

To book contact Roland on 031 205 7602 (h) or 082 499 8636, or email roland@stansell.za.net

Rhumbelow Theatre is situated in Cunningham Avenue off Bartle Road.
