DOUBLE TAKE (article first published : 2003-03-22)

Following on the smash hit Sinderella Comes Again, two of its star performers present Double Take. Well-known theatre personality Anthony Stonier (seen as the glamorous Ugly Sister in Sinderella and who was also responsible for the hit revue Let's Misbehave) and Stephan Marnewick who played the sexy Prince in Sinders and is undoubtably Durban's hottest property, have combined their musical and design talents to put together an evening of music, fun, sophistication, glamour and style in Double Take which is to have three performances at Rhumbelow Theatre this month.

Double Take is a musical revue that takes a second glance at an extensive selection of music. From classic to modern, old and new songs are either given a fresh treatment or simply left untouched. From Robbie Williams to Puccini or show stoppers and ballads to piano solos and character numbers, this slick polished entertainment is guaranteed to appeal to old and young alike as it evokes old memories and creates new ones.

Performances on March 28 and 29 (show at 20h30) and on March 30 (show at 18h30).

Tickets R40. Bring food picnic baskets. The venue opens 90 minutes before the show. Alcohol may not be brought on to the premises but there is a cash bar. Braais will be available for those who wish to cook meat. The Rhumbelow Theatre is situated in Cunningham Avenue off Bartle Road. Limited secure parking is available.

Phone Roland on 031 205 7602 (home) or 082 499 8636 or e-mail roland@stansell.za.net

The show moves to The Cellar at the Natal Playhouse. Presented by Zonnebloem and Sue Clarence Promotions, it runs from April 1 to May 4. Bookings and enquiries on 082 882 9869 or Computicket.
