LET’S MISBEHAVE RETURNS (article first published : 2001-11-8)

The slick, witty, elegant music revue Let’s Misbehave will return to The Royal Backstage from November 14.

After its sell-out season six months ago and the rave reviews it received in the local media, Anthony Stonier, Carol Trench and Evan Roberts return with a special Christmas edition of Let’s Misbehave … Again.

The show played to capacity houses at this year’s Natal Witness Hilton Arts Festival and has already been booked for a month long season in Cape Town in the new year.

Since late September, it has been uncertain whether the return season at The Royal Backstage would be possible due to Anthony Stonier’s recent accident but fortunately, the doctors have declared him able to return to the stage.

“The constrictive nature of the back brace Anthony is wearing has made for interesting horizontal rehearsals,” says the show’s promoter Sue Clarence. “If nothing else, he will definitely be seen lying elegantly on the grand piano!”

Over the past few weeks the trio has been updating and altering the script, adding new songs and festive numbers all of which are imbued with naughty lyrics and are embraced by the suggestive title of the show. New songs include Gay Paree, I Never Do Anything Twice, Santa Baby, Tom Lehrer’s A Christmas Carol as well as all the favourites from the earlier season.

Tickets include a three-course meal in true Royal style. The Backstage venue seats approximately 60 people and the show is available for corporate functions and Christmas office parties, for both lunches and dinners. Contact Geeta at The Royal on (031) 333-6000 for all bookings and enquiries.
