MORE GOOD VIBRATIONS (article first published : 2000-10-10)

In association with the Langoustine Supper Theatre, Themi Venturas Productions is extending the run of the 10th anniversary season of Themi's evergreen smash hit Good Vibrations - The Next Generation until October 22.

Told through the eyes of enthusiastic diarist Suzy, Good Vibrations is a rollicking nostalgic musical journey through the 1960s featuring the music of the Beatles, Beach Boys, Platters, Bee Gees and many more.

The show originally opened in 1990 at the Playhouse Cellar with Natasha Sutherland (now in Egoli), Aaron McIlroy, Arnie Field, Hughie Louw and Themi Venturas himself. Since then it has wowed audiences around South Africa and further afield in Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Zambia and Botswana and featured many performers who have become some of South Africa's top actors and actresses.

The production running at the Langoustine Theatre by the Sea includes four up-and-coming stars -Greig Pilkington, Neels Boshoff, Donovan Philander and Shanthan who were seen in Themi Venturas's new musical The Guitar That Rocked The World and Hamlet. Kasia Stempowski will play the role of Suzy. For the first time since it first opened, a live band is featured. (See review on these pages)
