MAGICAL MAYHEM (article first published : 2008-07-8; last edited : [an error occurred while processing this directive])

Mix a handful of magicians, illusions spiced with comedy, a singer and some juggling and unicycling, play with fire a little and add friends at a wonderful little venue. Result - Magical Mayhem coming up at Rhumbelow Theatre shortly, a truly different and affordable fun evening out. Look carefully or you might miss this ...! Magical Mayhem will feature The South African Magical Society with Adrian Smith, Bernard Dyer, Peter Warby, Darryn Le Grange, Adi Paxton, Tom Hastings (juggling), Gavin Stockden (juggling), Keith Pettengell and Bennie Matthee. Featured performers will be Robin Boltman and Dave Arnold who is well-known for his performances at the Dockyard Supper Theatre.

Spend an evening with a bunch of guys and a gal, both amateur and professional performers, that enjoys mixing magical entertainment with humour, and little mind-reading spiced with the songs of a truly smooth-sounding fun guy. Duck occasionally to avoid flying objects ... and ‘be persuaded to volunteer at will’ while you are amused and bemused. See if you can spot the better-known performers in this cast - made up largely of members of the South African Magical Society, or SAMS, or just relax and enjoy with friends.

Shows take place on July 11 and 12 at 20h00 and on July 13 at 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner.

Tickets R70. Take along food picnic baskets and braais will be available. There is limited secure parking and booking is essential. A cash bar is available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises). Rhumbelow Theatre is situated in Cunningham Avenue off Bartle Road.

To book contact Roland on 031 205 7602 (h) or 082 499 8636, email roland@stansell.za.net or visit www.rhumbelow.za.net
