A-MEN! (article first published : 2008-02-15)

Three sassy singing ‘gals’ have come to Africa from the deep south of America, to explore their ‘roots’. Having achieved notoriety in their home state as a trio of musical mayhem, they are eager to share their talents in a new country. Their agent, Manny, has booked a mystery tour of the continent, that will have them performing in the most unusual places. At first astonished by the venues they have been booked into, the three rally gamely and get on with what they do best! Entertain!

Starring Anthony Stonier, Rowan Bartlett and Sean De Klerk (all who appeared in the smash hit adult pantomime Robin Hood), A-Men! is a musical comedy romp of great notes, a madcap musical comedy that centres on the life and times of a less than well-known "girl" singing group.

Having made such a delightful debut in Robin Hood as the hilarious "good fairy" backing singers to Maid Marion, Miss Sophia and Miss Dorothy return to the stage by huge demand. They join their third group member, Miss Blanche, in this rollicking musical-comedy spoof where three very different characters are united by their desire for fame and fortune.

A-Men! runs from February 14 (19h30) and then from February 15 to 24 on Fridays and Saturdays at 20h00 (Sunday shows at 18h30). The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner.

Tickets R70. Take along food picnic baskets and braais will be available. There is limited secure parking and booking is essential. A cash bar is available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises). Rhumbelow Theatre is situated in Cunningham Avenue off Bartle Road.
