MICHAEL NAIKER (article first published : 2007-11-4)

Back by popular demand, South Africa's funniest "Hinnian O" Kevin Perkins (aka Michael Naiker) returns to The Heritage Theatre for two hours of "ring-stinging" comedy.

Having catapulted his way into the comedy circuit with his cellphone-based joke service Kevin Perkins's alter ego, Michael Naiker, has a loyal following. In performing his "rebel-without-a-clue" South African Indian comedy character, Perkins has been quoted as saying he has "created a monster". However, it is a "monster" that strikes a chord with local audiences who identify with the tongue-firmly-in-cheek, irreverent character.

Featuring sketches from his infamous CDs, Skidmarks! and Bling When You're Winning, the show promises to equal - or better - Naiker's previous sell-out performances.

With the added extra of the comedian's "Brand New H' Episodes", you're guaranteed to laugh till you cry. Be warned, however, that the show contains explicit dialogue and is not recommended for children under 18 years.

Michael Naiker runs at the Heritage Theatre from November 13 to 18. Limited tickets are available at R195 including a two-course meal. Show times are Tuesday to Saturday at 19h00 (meal) for 20h30 (show) and Sunday 12h30 (meal) and 14h00 (show). Extra lunch-time shows on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday have been included for the week's run. Booking is essential at 031 765 4197.
