GOOD VIBRATIONS (article first published : 2000-08-18)

Good Vibrations - Themi Venturasís hit supper theatre musical that has wowed audiences from Durban to Cape Town, Zimbabwe to Swaziland, and Zambia to Botswana - is back!! The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Platters, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, The Bee Gees and many more will hit the stage making sure they bring back old fans and win new ones!

The story is narrated by enthusiastic teenage diarist Suzy Johnson who starts the decade by leaving home and going to college. Through her eyes are seen JFKís death, flower power era and Vietnam as well as the dawning of the Age of Aquarius and manís landing on the moon.

Throughout its ten year history, Good Vibrations has seen many of South Africaís top actors perform in the show. The season at Langoustine Theatre by the Sea will include four up-and-coming stars fresh from two successful Themi Venturas Productions, the new musical The Guitar That Rocked The World and the critically acclaimed Hamlet. Greig Pilkington, Shanthan, Neels Boshoff and Donovan Philander join Kasia Stempowski who will play the role of Suzy, the part originally played by Egoli star Natasha Sutherland. Also included will be a live band - a "first" at Langoustine Theatre by the Sea.

Good Vibrations opens on August 22 - with special preview rates on August 22 (two-course dinner and show at R69 p/p) and August 23, 24 and 25 (three-course dinner and show for R80 p/p). Due to the overwhelming success of the Langoustineís Tuesday Ladies supper theatre night special, the venue has introduced another budget evening with Sundays at Six offering two-course dinner and show at R69 p/p.

Booking is essential - contact Lisa or Yash on (031) 563 7324 or e-mail: langos@iafrica.com
