PLATFORM JAZZ (article first published : 2001-05-2)

Platform Jazz will perform at 15h00 at St Thomas Church on May 12. The band will play toe-tapping 1920's Dixieland music and the line-up includes Cathy Peacock (leader) on trumpet, Ian Holloway (clarinet), Nina Sugden (piano), Simon Dixon (trombone), Andreas Kappen (bass) and Bryan Clarke (drums).

The concert will be held in the Church garden and refreshments will be available but audiences are invited to bring their own picnic baskets if so desired. Tickets R25 (R20 pensioners and R10 children) available at the gate.

With the inclusion of well-known pianist Andrew Warburton, Platform Jazz appears in a series of concerts hosted by St. Benedicts, performing at the school on May 15 from 19h30 to 21h00. Tickets R25 and the school is situated at 31 Mariannhill Road, Pinetown. Phone (031) 702-6989.
