RUSTLERS WICKED MASK PARTY (article first published : 2000-12-10)

New Years Eve at Rustlers Valley is becoming a legend. Once again there will be a gathering where people connect and free their spirits to dance uninhibited to the sounds of “great Global music”, supported by some of Rustlers' favourite African musicians.

The party, held this year from December 29 to January 2, 2001, normally attracts about 1000 people and focuses around DJ’s performing an eclectic fusion of World music. Drumming workshops exploring the Pedi and Tsonga rhythms will be led by Thebe Motlhakeng and Kholeho Mossala. Live music performances feature in the early evenings and include master drummer El Hadge Diop from Senegal; Madala Kunene from Durban who is one of South Africa’s greatest guitarists; Kholeho Mossala on Marimba and Tebe Motlhakeng, master percussionist from Soweto.

Entrance:R150 includes free camping - book at Computicket. More details from (051) 933-3939 or fax (051) 933-3286, e-mail: wemad@rustlers.co.za For directions see website www.rustlers.co.za
