WATERSHED AND SWIFTLOVE (article first published : 2000-11-25)

Bargo’s at Greyville Racecourse has recently introduced Live @ Bargo’s and aim to be Durban’s premier live music stage.

On November 30, the attraction will be Watershed who will perform at approximately 22h30. Their catchy acoustic rock sound will be suitably introduced at 21h30 by the support act, Independent on Saturday BATtle of the Bands winners in the rock/pop category, Swiftlove. Swiftlove is described by organiser Neil Comfort as a “fresh seven piece outfit with their mixture of deep groove and soul - a new millennium James Brown, influenced by a mixture of African Jungle Funk with an element of Latino Street music.”

Live @ Bargo’s was launched with great success on November 24 to an audience of close on 700 people who passed through the doors during the evening. Performing were Jimmy 12 Inch joined by two of the members of Fruit Fly Navigators; three members of THC and Roly Struckmeyer of Butternut fame.

Bargo’s festive season includes Squeal and Pistolfish (December 1); Sheet Party with Ready D and other Durban DJ's (December 8); Sugardrive, Butternut, Ethel M Love and Tweak (December 15); Springbok Nude Girls and local support act tbc (December 19) and THC (December 22).
