THE PHANTOM UNMASKED (article first published : 2000-11-9)

Peter Karrie, international star of London's West End, returns to South Africa for a concert tour in November and December which offers a programme of all-time musical favourites with a full supporting cast from London.

Presented by Scott's Promotions, Peter Karrie - The Phantom Unmasked will give three concerts in KZN in November. These will take place at The Oval in Alexandra Park, Pietermaritzburg, on November 28; at the Durban City Hall on November 29 and at the Hilton College Theatre, Hilton, on November 30. All concerts start at 19h30.

Karrie has played leading roles in many of the international musical classics. He has been dubbed the “Master of Musicals” and was voted the World's Best Ever Phantom. International critics have paid tribute to his Celtic charm and voice “as seductive as the smoothest Belgian chocolate.”

The internationally-recognized publication The Stage said - "Peter's voice is quite incredible - he brings things to the role of the Phantom that nobody else has. The rapturous reception at his entrance was only bettered by the standing ovation at the end. Peter Karrie at his show-stopping best,"

From the bright lights of Broadway to the magical musicals of the West End, local audiences are promised a highly entertaining evening packed with memorable tunes from productions which have made musical history such as Evita, Chess, Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar and many more.

Peter will be supported by stars from London's West End: Gunilla Backman, Emma Kershaw and Zoe Tyler.
