DUKES CELEBRATE 46 YEARS (article first published : 2008-08-4)

The Dukes, Durban's longest-running working band, will celebrate its 46th anniversary on August 8.

Led by saxophonist Dee Sharma, the band is extremely popular across the board with a loyal following as their vast repertoire caters for every occasion. However, their roots lie firmly in dance music and it is in this vein that they will portray old standards as well as current chart influenced songs at the bandís birthday party.

Patrons are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks.

The performance takes place on August 8 at the DLI Hall in Greyville, Durban, at 20h00. Tickets R50 available from Maniís Radio, 173 Grey Street, Durban, or on 083 983 6954 or 031 309 4280.
