LONG TRAIN RUNNING (article first published : 2008-07-27)

All aboard, the long train heading for the West Coast. Join Heritage Theatre for Long Train Running, a rhythmic journey through some of the best musical scenery the US has to offer. Master engine drivers Barry Thomson and John Ellis of Tree63, assisted by fire stoker Andy Turrell, promise safe passage through some mountainous musical terrain and guarantee a memorable journey. Ably navigated through country, rock, and crossing mainstream rivers, musical director Dawn Selby controls the route that runs past Ventura Highway, China Grove and pauses briefly at The Hotel California.

The Riders on the Storm will be transporting some memorable cargo in the form of the Eagles, The Doobie Brothers, Bread, Three Dog Night, Tom Petty, James Taylor, Crosby Stills and Nash and many others.

As the train pulls in to West Coast Station you’ll realise what a Joy to the World, and how exhilarating this journey has been, and the Guitar Man will want to Take It To The Limit and Make it With You all over again. The journey will definitely be something to teach your children.

Long Train Running runs from July 29 to August 31. Tickets R185 pp Wednesday to Saturdays for a delicious two-course meal and show (R160 pp Tuesday evenings and Sunday lunchtime)

There will be a special “opening week” promotion from July 29 to August 3 where patrons will get a three course meal and show for only R160! (Please quote Reference number LTR01 when booking). Bookings can be made on 031 765 4197 or online at www.heritagetheatre.co.za
