JOSH GROBAN (article first published : 2007-10-21)

Josh Groban returns to South Africa for a countrywide tour that is certain to leave his many legions of South African fans breathless. After the enormous success of his first SA tour in December 2004 and the subsequent release of his multi platinum album Awake in late 2006, Talk Radio 702, 94.5 KFM, East Coast Radio and OFM in association with Famous Concerts and Kusasa Entertainment bring this international music phenomenon back to South Africa for a full countrywide tour. The tour dates include much anticipated stops in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Durban.

“East Coast Radio is especially excited to host Josh Groban in Durban. He has a massive following on Durban’s No 1 hit music radio station and we look forward to continuing this over the summer months ahead,” says ECR’s Naveen Singh. Other tour dates are Bloemfontein (March 18), Cape Town (March 20) and Johannesburg (March 26).

"I'm especially excited about finally returning to South Africa,” says Josh Groban. “I feel like my fans are ready to come on a journey with me. South Africa is very dear to me and I have never forgotten the spirit and passion shown to me on my last visit. This remains one of my greatest memories of my tour around the world!”

Josh will release a new album, Noël, in South Africa on October 15. The album is a collection of Christmas music and is touted by many music industry insiders, as the biggest album scheduled for Christmas 2007. This is the young star’s fourth studio album which brings together the traditional such as Silent Night with the contemporary I’ll Be Home For Christmas. Featuring duets with Faith Hill and Brian McKnight, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir - and produced by the David Foster - the album’s wide appeal promises a timeless Christmas music classic.

Josh Groban burst onto the international music scene in 2001 with the release of his self-titled debut album featuring the hit single, To Where You Are. His follow up CD Closer with the smash hit You Raise Me Up brought enormous success to the young singing sensation.

In Durban, Josh Groban will perform under the stars at The Greyville Racecourse on March 16, 2008. Bring picnic baskets, blankets and chairs and enjoy the sounds of one of the world’s most consummate performers al fresca!
