Njabulo Thabiso Madlala is a South African baritone studying at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Aged 24, he is on the Post-Graduate Masters in Music Degree Course studying with Professor. Robert Dean. The Peter Moores Foundation and Music Benevolent Fund - MBF, support his studies.

Njabulo appeared as part of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra's National Youth Concerto Festival in 2001under the baton of David Tidboald. Currently on a scholarship from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he is to contribute to artSMart on a regular basis giving information on what South African singers are doing in the UK.

A Samling Foundation Scholar and a prize-winner of the Young Kathleen Ferrier bursary, Njabulo has recently sung in Covent Garden - Royal Opera House's production, Bird of Night by Dominique le Gendre. He has also appeared in Opera Holland Park's production La Fancuilla Del West by Puccini singing the role of Bello.

His career includes performances with numerous opera companies and masterclasses with top classical music figures and he continues to work very closely with the leading opera singer and recitalist Sarah Walker OBE. With Broomhill Opera, he sang Morales in the Carmen production that later became U-Carmen eKhayelitsha directed by Mark Dornford-May.

Njabulo Madlala will soon be seen and heard on his website which is under-construction at www.njabulomadlala.com
