NIANELL TO PERFORM AT SIBAYA (article first published : 2006-05-3)

Nianell, one of the foremost musical talents in South Africa takes to the stage at Krakatoa at Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom on May 18 and 19.

Nianell has recently released her third album Life’s Gift to great acclaim and her first two albums Who painted the Moon? and Angel Tongue have easily achieved Gold status in Southern Africa.

In 2005 she won two SAMA Awards. Angel Tongue won Best English Adult Contemporary Album 2005 and her song We’ll Find A Way earned her the title of Best Female Composer 2005.

Recognition of this remarkable talent is also happening beyond our shores. Her song Isn’t it? featured on her first album Who Painted the Moon? reached number two on a US adult contemporary radio station and four more songs have been play-listed over there.

She received further international acclaim when Who Painted the Moon? featured as a cover on international superstar Hayley Westerna’s album Pure. To date the album has sold in excess of 2 million copies worldwide and went Double Platinum in the UK alone. Nianell has also won the Global Songwriting Contest this year, with We’ll find a way and her song Just for tonight will feature as a soundtrack in the American movie Van Vorst Park, due for release soon.

Music is a passionate mission for Nianell who has a great many things planned. She aims to offer many more songs to both international and local artists and to place a lot more of her work in the television and film studios of the world- with the Disney Film Industry a dream goal.

Nianell will perform at Krakatoa at Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom on May 18 and 19. Doors open at 20h00 and the performance begins at 21h00. Tickets R95 booked through Computicket or the Sibaya Box-Office on 031 580 5555.
