CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL TRIBUTE (article first published : 2006-04-6)

Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom presents The Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute Show at Krakatoa from April 13 to 17.

The show consists of two 45-minute sets and is presented in an informal concert style with Clint Cunningham along with band members Peter Hanmer, Mike Dorea and Glen Welman entertaining the audience with various Creedence stories and interesting facts and anecdotes.

Cunningham fosters a spirit of crowd participation by getting members of the audience to answer questions and to sing along. This show holds the all-time record at two of the Barnyard theatres for the most successful show ever.

With well over a 150 shows under their belt, 11 performances in seven days at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, several runs at the Showcase Theatres North Riding, The Performer Theatre Pretoria, many high profile corporate events, from Sun City Superbowl to La Toscana at Monte Casino, the cast have entertained patrons in Maputo in Mozambique, the Aardklop Music Festival in Potchefstroom and performed to over 3,500 people at the Celebration Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The deep South roots and swamp pop rockabilly sounds of Creedence are brilliantly captured as one is swept away with songs such as Cottonfields, Someday Never Comes, Have You Ever Seen the Rain, Fortunate Son, Proud Mary, The Midnight Special, Hey Tonight, Lodi, Green River, As Long as I can See the Light, Heard it Through the Grapevine, I Put a Spell on You, Suzie Q, Travelling band, Bad Moon Rising, Sweet Hitch Hiker, Looking Out My Back Door and Up and Around the Bend.

Tickets R65 booked through Computicket or Box-Office on 031 580 5555.
