KZNPO ALL-MOZART PROGRAMME (article first published : 2006-03-4)

The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra will perform an all Mozart programme at St Thomas Church, Musgrave Road, Durban on March 5 at 11h00. The concert will be lead by popular Dutch-born conductor Lyk Temmingh, a familiar figure to KZN audiences, with internationally acclaimed violinist, Geza Kayser, as soloist.

250 years after his birth, the brilliance of Mozart lives on and the music programme has been planned as part of the KZNPO’s tribute the composer. It begins with the Violin Concerto No. 5, K 219, in A and will be followed by Symphony No. 36, K 425, in C (“Linz”).

Tickets R35 (R20 for children) are available from the president of the Rotary Club, Irene Kotze, at Garden Grove, 211 St Thomas Road, Musgrave, or on 031 202 7521. Tickets will also be on sale at the door of the church before the concert.
