SAINTS OF BLISS (article first published : 2005-12-16)

After three months in the recording studio, Saints of Bliss (SOB) have just released their brand new second album, In A Sea of Sound.

The first album, Show Me the Way, was extremely popular in local and international music scenes. This time around, it seems that the next album will prove to be an even greater success.

The new single is a glimpse into SOB’s dynamic and inspirational style of music. It’s a bit of contemporary rock mixed with pop. They take their inspiration from the likes of The Beatles, Goo Goo Dolls, Feeder and Jimmy Eat World.

SOB’s 13-track album is packed with variation. The full time musicians, David and Jono Quinton wrote the songs together – both bringing in their own influences and preferences. Track # 12 being their Aids Anthem For the People.

Their passion for music and life is evident in their new album. “Our music relates to the lifestyles of today’s generation. We want to inspire them and give them direction”, says David. These local Durban boys have made their mark in the South African music scene. They are sure to bring a new element to what it means to be a rock band.

Be sure to catch SOB soon when they start their national tour. There is also the possibility that they will host a competition called “Rock Stars”, where 12 bands in each city compete against each other to become the ultimate “Rock Stars.”

In A Sea of Sound will be launched on December 20. More information on the band or the new album from Monica Ferreira of Sting Music on 011 614 1911 or 084 670 3754 or e-mail: monica@stingmusic.co.za or Carolina Blom (Management) on 083 251 5396 or e-mail: carolinablom@mweb.co.za (Durban)
