BRYAN ADAMS (article first published : 2005-11-16)

Big Concerts, Algoa FM, East Coast Radio and 94.7 Highveld Stereo will present international superstar, Bryan Adams, one of the world’s most potent forces back, in South Africa in March 2006. Concerts will be staged in Cape Town (March 7), Port Elizabeth (March 9); Durban (March 11) and Johannesburg (March 12).

This will be the Canadian superstar’s fourth tour to South Africa and looks set to be as successful as his three previous visits. Bryan Adams was first in South Africa in April ’94, and then in May ’99 and saw in the New Year in 2002. His January ‘03 Kirstenbosch Gardens’ performances sold out a remarkable three nights.

With a two-decade career under his belt, Bryan Adams remains one of the biggest recording artists in the world. His songs have achieved #1 status globally. Awards include a Grammy, an American Music Award, countless industry and song-writing awards and accolades including three Academy Award nominations for his music and lyrics in film soundtracks. He holds the record for the longest running #1 single in British music history with his hit (Everything I Do) I Do It For You. In addition to this he has been awarded the notable Order of Canada.

His shows offer a repertoire that contains a selection of ballads, like (Everything I Do) I Do It For You and Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman? and rock favourites like Cuts Like A Knife, 18 till I die and Summer of ‘69.

Room Service, his 11th studio album, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard European Top 100 albums Chart, and was met with worldwide critical acclaim, selling millions of copies globally.
