MUSIC ON THE DECK (article first published : 2004-10-10)

The BAT Centre hosts regular music sessions on The Deck.

On October 15 at 18h00, patrons can watch the lights come up in the harbour as the sun sets in the company of the eight-piece maskanda group AmaDanono under the leadership of Zodwa Langa.

The following sundowner sesson on October 22 highlights the Dan Mthalane Band who play Afro-beat/trad. Fusion. The five-piece group is under the leadership of Dan Mthalane, son of the late great Doda "Doc" Mthalane. Dan will be on acoustic guitar and lead vocals whilst the rest of the line-up is Thulani Ngidi on drums, Nhlanhla Zulu on keyboard and backing vocals, Gana Mkhize on bass guitar and Johnathan on violin.

On October 29, Music on the Deck features the Jumbo Band from Kenya with their Afro-beat music style.
